Comenzaré contando un poco como funciona el tema, pero antes os dejaré las fotos anteriores al momento del encuentro, ya que hubo suspense. Un camión atravesado a la carretera, el cual había tenido un accidente, y la gente mirando pero no haciendo nada, hasta que el conductor soltó pasta, y decidieron hacer la carretera mas ancha, porque lo de empujar el camión... Decían que valía demasiado como para que se cayera montaña abajo, que no era suyo.

I will start explaining how it works, but before you can see the great moment with the gorilas, there are some pictures. There was a truck in the middle of the road, that got an accident, people looking, and not doing anything, until our driver gave some money, and they started to make the road wider, because pushing the truck... They said that it costs too much for them, in case the truck goes down the valley, because they were normal workers, not the owner of the truck

Por algo le pusieron ese nombre a la película gorilas en la niebla.

For that reason they named the movie, gorillas in the mist.

Primero de todo decir que el permiso para ver los gorilas vale 500 dolares, y te dejan estar con ellos 1 hora. Nosotros tuvimos mucha suerte, ya que es temporada baja, pero normalmente tienes que pedir el permiso con un par de meses de antelación, una vez pagas el permiso, tienes que llegar al parque nacional correspondiente. Hay tres países que tienen gorilas de montaña: Congo, Uganda y Ruanda. Nosotros al llegar a Kigali, Uganda, decidimos probar suerte con el permiso, y la tuvimos, ya que son grupos de 8, pero íbamos solos. Todos los gorilas para nosotros!!!

First of all, the gorilla permit cost 500 usd, and you can stay with them an hour. We were really lucky to have it right the way because it's low season, but normally you have to book with 2 months in advance, once you paid, you can go to the national park. There are three countries with mountain gorillas: Congo, Uganda and Rwanda. We arrived to Kigali, Uganda, and we tried to get a permit, and we also were lucky, because normally one group is for 8 people, but we were alone. All the gorillas for us!!

Segundo, a día de hoy es muy difícil que alguien se quede sin ver los gorilas, ya que hay un grupo de gente, trackers, que siguen desde las 6 am a los gorilas desde el punto de encuentro del día anterior, entonces cuando los turistas comienzan a las 9 am, ya se sabe donde están, o casi siempre.

Second, now a day is very hard that someone can't see the gorillas, because they have trackers, and they track the gorillas since 6 am from the position of where they left the day before, then when the tourist start at 9 am, they know where they are.

En Uganda, los gorilas estan en Bwindi National Park y en Mgahinga National Park. Nos recomendaron Bwindi National Park, y su bosque impenetrable, que si lo que es de impenetrable, menudo caminito! El guía nos abría camino con el machete, y para subir la montaña se tenía que hacer por el río.

In Uganda, the gorillas are in Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Park. They recommended us Bwindi National Park, the impenetrable forest, and definitely it is impenetrable, what a path!!! The guide was cutting the branches with the machete, and we walked along the river to go up.

Una vez llegamos arriba, nos encontramos con el grupo que perseguía a los gorilas, y nos dijeron que estaban un poco mas adelante.

Once we reached the top of the mountain, we met the trackers, and they told us, that the gorillas were in front.

Caminamos un total de 1 hora y 30 minutos para llegar a ellos, la primera impresión es: " Un mono ", pero cuando te dicen que te acerques, te das cuenta que es bastante mas grande que un mono. El macho, llamado silverback, espalda plateada, llega a pesar 250kg.

We walked 1 hour and a half to reach them, the first impression is: " a monkey ", but when you get near them, you realise that is much bigger than a monkey. The male call silverback weight 250 kg.

Yo solo con el echo de verlos en los árboles hubiera sido suficiente, pero para el guía eso no es nada, y cuando te das cuenta y miras por los alrededores, te das cuenta que hay 16 gorilas, todos ellos comiendo, y mirándote con cara de que haces por aquí.

Just looking them on the trees will be enough for me, but for the guide that is nothing, and when you look around, you can see 16 gorillas, all of them eating, and looking you with a face of what are you doing here.

Fue una suerte que solo fuimos dos, ya que nos cuidaron muy bien, nos dejaron hacer fotos de todos los ángulos, y nos dejaron estar 1 hora y 15 minutos, que no suele ser habitual, pero saben que si lo hacen les cae una buena propina.

We were lucky to be just two. Because the guide took care of us, they let us to take pictures from everywhere, and we stayed 1 hour and 15 minutes, which is not normal, but if they do, they know that they will have a good tips.

La cara de Miranda es de: Que coño está pasando ? Bueno, mientras hacíamos fotos al gorila de atrás, hubo un momento que el silverback decidió aparecer en escena, y en ese momento Miranda estaba posando para la foto de turno, y el guía diciendo: "No te muevas!". Al final el silverback subió el árbol, bajó el árbol, y se fué.

The face of Miranda is: What the fuck is happening ? Well, meanwhile we were taking pictures to the gorilla behind, there was a moment that the silverback appeared, and in that moment was Miranda's turn picture, the guide saying: " Don't move!!!". At the end the silverback climbed the tree up and down, and it left.

Nosotros visitamos a la familia nshongi.

We were visiting the nshongi family.

En conclusión, la experiencia es increíble, pero el precio es prohibitivo, y según dicen para junio lo van a subir. Me hubiera gustado volverlos a ver, pero a día de hoy ya me parece una burrada pagar 500 dolares por persona, pagar 1000 es de locos.

In conclusion, it was an awesome experience, but the price is really expensive, and they say that they will increase it for june. I want to see them again, but now I think pay 500 usd is silly pay 1000 usd is insane.
